Wayland Baptist's Dewayne Booker has been named Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week for Jan. 16-22.

Booker, a junior from San Bernardino, Calif., won the 800 meters at the Texas Tech Invitational with the best time in the NAIA to this point, 1:52.48.  He also automatically qualified in the 600 yards with a time of 1:10.85, which is the NAIA's No. 2 time this season.

This is the second straight week that a Pioneer track athlete has been honored.  Kennedy Kithuka, the WBU junior distance runner, was the previous SAC Track Athlete of the Week.
