The Pioneers completed their series sweep over College of Santa Fe with 10-0 and 11-1 wins on Friday afternoon at Wilder Field. Wayland is now 32-10 on the season and is in the midst of a seven-game win streak.

Junior pitcher Todd Weldon (10-2) threw just 65 pitches in the opener, a two-hit shutout, striking out nine in five innings of play. It was the third shutout of the season for Weldon, which ties him for the WBU single-season record, and his seventh complete game.

Josh Lucas went 3-for-3 in the game with a double, a home run and three RBI. Keith Martin had the only other extra base hit for the Pioneers, a two-run double in the fourth.

In the nightcap, sophomore Trevor Stringer improved his record to 6-0 with the complete game, five inning victory. He gave up four hits and struck out nine.

Eddie Allen had a two-run homer in the game, his third of the season. Ben Seymore belted out a triple, his second of the series, and Michael Prell and Franky Busani each doubled. Brett Cook was 3-for-3 at the plate.

Next up for the Pioneers is a Tuesday afternoon game against West Texas A&M University. The noon start is to accomodate local elementary schools which will be in attendance. A crowd of over 700 is expected. After Tuesday's game, WBU will return to Sooner Athletic Conference play with its first-ever road trip to Claremore, Okla., the home of Rogers State University. The three-game series begins with a doubleheader starting at 5 pm on Friday.
