Wayland Baptist University track and field athlete Kirby Dunn was recently named to ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-American 2nd Team, according to information released by the College Sports Information Directors Assocation (CoSIDA).

Dunn, who just wrapped up his junior season for the Pioneers is a four-time NAIA All-American from Bowie, Tex. He was the runner-up in the 1000-meter run at the NAIA Indoor Championships in March, and finished fifth in the 800-meters at the Outdoor Championships last month.

A Business Administration major with a perfect 4.0 grade point average, Dunn received NAIA Scholar Athlete honors in both track and field and cross country during the 2008-09 season, as well as COSIDA Academic All-District honors.
