Two Wayland Baptist tracksters hit the automatic qualifying standard and another provisionally qualified in the Moundbuilder Half Marathon at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan. earlier this month.
Senior Timmy McCune finished third in the race in a time of 1:12:01. Sophomore Michael Sandoval was sixth with a 1:13:04, while junior John Keith ran a 1:15:13 to finish in 11th place.
The NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships are scheduled for May 27-29 at the Outdoor Sports Complex in Marion, Ind.
The Pioneer track and field team officially begins its indoor season on January 16 at the Texas Tech Invitational.
