PRIMM, Nev. --- The #12 Wayland Baptist women's golfers opened their spring season with an 8th place finish at the CBU Spring Break Classic held at the Primm Valley Golf Club. The WBU women took 11 strokes off their first round total of 342 on a cold and wet Tuesday to finish with a 673.

Individually, sophomore Charlotte Guilleux placed second, just two strokes in back of the leader, Jocelyn Alford of the University of British Columbia.  Guilleux started out with a 76 and then wrapped things up with a two-over 74 on the second 18.

Ayne Magombe tied for 22nd place after shooting a 163 (81-82).  Freshmen Jennifer Perry (90-81- 171) and Krisann Earp (100-94 - 194) also competed for the Pioneers.

The University of British Columbia took the tourney title with a 611.  #9 Lubbock Christian finished 4th (637) and #16 Southern Nazarene came in 6th (665).
