Six Wayland Baptist University volleyball players were honored as members of the 2008 All-Sooner Athletic Conference team during Thursday's first day of competition at the SAC Championship Volleyball Tournament.

Sophomore middle Jennifer Wyatt earned First Team honors. A graduate of Amarillo High School, Wyatt leads the Pioneers with a .288 hitting percentage, averaging 2.6 kills, and has a team-high 73 blocks.

Setter Anika Voigt and hitters Desiree Luevano and Kimberli Harger were named to the All-Conference 2nd team.

A sophomore from Potsdam, Germany, Voigt entered the conference tournament with 1094 assists, an average of 9.5 per game. She also averages 1.2 kills and a team-high 3.9 digs, and has recorded 29 service aces. She was also a 2nd team honoree as a freshman.

Luevano, a sophomore from El Paso who was named SAC Player of the Week last week, is the Pioneer leader in kills, averaging 2.6 a game. She also contributes just over three digs a contest and has 26 service aces.

A freshman from Lubbock's Cooper High School, Harger has appeared in all 115 sets played this fall. She averages 2.4 kills and 2.9 digs a game and is third in total blocks with 52. Harger was also honored as a Conference Player of the Week earlier this season.

Earning Honorable Mention All-Conference honors were Hailey Clark and Audrey Hemminger. Clark, a senior rightside hitter/middle from Lubbock, is the Pioneer leader in service aces with 35. She averages 1.7 kills and 1.5 digs a game, and has 32 total blocks.

A junior middle from Melrose, NM, Hemminger is second on the team in hitting percentage (.207) and in total blocks (63). She has recorded 171 kills this season.
