The Pioneer volleyball team will take on John Brown University on Friday at 6 p.m. in the championship match of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament.

John Brown, the tourney's second seed, defeated #3-seed Oklahoma City on Thursday in five sets to advance, while the fourth-seeded Pioneers beat #1 Lubbock Christian.

The Pioneers and Golden Eagles split their two matches this year with each team winning in five sets on their home court.

JBU is led by All-Conference 1st teamers Amber Wilson and Christi Newton. Wilson is hitting .309 on the season with an average of 2.6 kills a contest. Newton leads the SAC in blocks with an average of 1.5. She also averages 2.4 kills and has a hitting percentage of .287.

Waylands's Jennifer Wyatt, the team's only 1st team All-SAC selection, is the fourth in conference hitting percentage (.288). Second team honorees Anika Voigt is second in SAC assists (9.5/g), while Desiree Luevano averages a team-high 2.6 kills and freshman Kimberli Harger has a 2.4 kill per game average.
