Tom Harp is in his ninth year as the head coach of the Wayland Baptist University men's golf team. His teams have made seven straight appearances at the NAIA Championship Tournament, highlighted by a runner-up finish in 2007.
In its second year, the Pioneer women's team has already won one tournament title, the 2009 Mustang Desert Classic, and has produced one NAIA All-American. The squad just missed qualifying for its first NAIA Championship Tournament.
Since Coach Harp took over in the Fall of 2001, 13 Pioneer men have earned NAIA All-American honors, five have made the NAIA Championship All-Tournament team, and one has been honored as the Phil Mickelson Award winner as the NAIA's top freshman golfer.
The 2007 squad was awarded the Buffalo Funds Five Star Award for its dedication and implementation of the NAIA Champions of Character program's five core values, and one Pioneer golfer was given the NAIA Championship Character Act Award.
Coach Harp and his wife, Maury, have two children, Megan (12) and Jaden (2).

Former NAIA All-American Kevin Stinson is the new graduate assistant of the WBU Golf Program. Stinson, the Pioneer recordholder for low tournament score (-11) and low round play (64), earned All-American honors twice during his four-year career at Wayland. He was also a member of the 2006 NAIA National Championship All-Tournament team.
The 2006 WBU Newcomer of the Year and a 2008 All-Region and All-Conference honoree, Stinson was a part of four teams that played in the NAIA Men's Golf National Championships. The Pioneers, the national runner-up in 2007, finished among the top 10 in each of those years.
Stinson was the 2008 Manning Award winner, given to the Pioneer with the lowest season average, and the 2009 Most Valuable Player. He was also a co-receipient of the Roscoe Snyder Award, presented annually to the outstanding senior male student-athlete at Wayland.
