Steven Quezada - Assistant Coach - 1st Season

Steven Quezada returns to the Pioneer baseball program in the fall of 2009 after working the last five years as an intervention counselor for at-risk teens.

A former Wayland player, Coach Quezada hit .307 with nine doubles, eight homers and 44 RBIs during his senior season. He remained with the program as a student assistant, and eventually took over as assistant coach in 2003.

The Pioneers advanced to post-season play in each of the three seasons Coach Quezada assisted in the Pioneer dugout. The 2004 team won 40 wins for just the second time in WBU history at that time and established numerous records.

A native of Tolleson, Ariz., Coach Quezada and his wife, Noelia, a physical therapist, have one son, Marcello (2). He also has a son, Ryan, who is 17.
