VANCOUVER, Wash. --- Wayland Baptist sophomore Kennedy Kithuka was extremely confident going into Saturday's 56th Annual NAIA Cross Country Championships.  Turns out the reigning national titleholder had a right to be.  Kithuka easily defended his crown at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, knocking almost a full minute off his time of a year ago to win his second straight NAIA Individual Men's Championship.

The 56th Annual NAIA Men's and 32nd Annual Women's Cross Country National Championships will take place Saturday at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Wash. The men's 8K championship race will start at 10:30 a.m. PST, followed by the women's 5K gun sounding at 11:45 a.m.

SHAWNEE, Okla. --- Everything went according to plan at the 2011 Sooner Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning.  The Wayland Baptist women captured their fourth SAC championship in the last five years, and the Pioneer men finished nine points ahead of #10 Oklahoma Baptist for second place.

 The Wayland Baptist Cross Country teams are competing at the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday morning in Shawnee, Okla.  The Pioneer women are the favorite to win their fourth conference title in the past five years, while the men's team is looking to move up in the national rankings with a strong showing.
