
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. --- The Wayland Baptist volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season Thursday night in the opening match of the Embry-Riddle Labor Day Tournament. The Pioneers fell to Embry-Riddle in four sets, 25-17, 25-14, 20-25, 27-25.

DAYTONA, BEACH, Fla. --- The Pioneer volleyball begins competing in the Embry-Riddle Labor Day Tournament this evening. The WBU netters take on the hosts, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at 5 p.m. CST. According to the ERAU website, all matches at this weekend's tournament will have Live Stats as well as Live Video Streaming.
There is a charge for the Live Video Streaming of $6.95 per match or $9.99 for a tournament package. Live Stats are free.

The Wayland Baptist volleyball team wrapped up the 2010 Coca-Cola Classic with an unblemished 3-0 record, defeating York College 25-13, 25-17, 25-12 on Saturday afternoon.

Kate Trejos and Desiree Luevano combined for 25 kills and 24 digs to lead Wayland Baptist to a three-set sweep over Embry-Riddle on day two of the 2010 Coca-Cola Classic at Hutcherson Center. The Pioneers picked up their second win of the season with the 25-15, 25-13, 25-7 victory.

The unranked Wayland Baptist Pioneers opened their season with an upset win over #12 Olivet Nazarene University in the first match of the 2010 Coca-Cola Classic. Senior Desiree Luevano had 16 kills to lead the way for WBU, which swept the match, 25-15, 25-23, 25-21.
