
History was made Monday evening at Hilliard Field on the Wayland Baptist campus when Guillermo Villarreal and Carlos Mellado combined to score both Pioneer goals in a 2-1 victory over Texas Wesleyan University. It was the first-ever win for the WBU men's program, which debuted last fall.

The Fall 2010 soccer season officially gets underway at Wayland Baptist University on Monday when the Pioneer women's and men's teams kick off against Texas Wesleyan University at Hilliard Field. The women's game begins at 5 pm, followed by the men at 7 pm.

Wayland Baptist men's soccer coach Shiloh Posey has added five new players to the Fall 2010 roster. Among that group is a goalkeeper, three midfielders and a defender.

Chickasha, Okla.---The Wayland Baptist soccer season came to a close Tuesday afternoon with both the Pioneer men and women dropping 10-0 decisions to the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.

It was Senior Day at Hilliard Field on Friday afternoon, so it was only fitting that Pioneer senior T.J. Nolen picked up the only Wayland goal of the day as Oklahoma Baptist swept a conference doubleheader, 5-0 in the women's game and 6-1 in the men's contest.
