Wayland Baptist's Dewayne Booker has been named Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week for Jan. 16-22.

LUBBOCK, Texas --- Three individuals turned in winning performances, another school record fell, and 14 new qualifying marks were met at the Texas Tech Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Athletic Training Center.

Pioneer Kennedy Kithuka has been named Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week – the first such honor of 2012.

LUBBOCK, Texas --- The indoor track season got off to a great start this weekend at the Texas Tech Open.  Athletes from Wayland Baptist recorded five first place finishes, met 19 automatic and eight provisional qualifying marks, and established two new records.

After spending the past two years one step down from the top of the podium at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships, the 2012 Wayland Baptist men's team is poised to make that final step up.
