LUBBOCK, Texas --- Three individuals turned in winning performances, another school record fell, and 14 new qualifying marks were met at the Texas Tech Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Athletic Training Center.
LUBBOCK, Texas --- The indoor track season got off to a great start this weekend at the Texas Tech Open. Athletes from Wayland Baptist recorded five first place finishes, met 19 automatic and eight provisional qualifying marks, and established two new records.

The 2012 Pioneer women's indoor track and field team begins its chase for a third national title in the last five years this weekend at the Texas Tech Open. Three Wayland Baptist seniors remain on the squad from the last championship team in 2009 and two others have won team national championships at the junior college level.

MARION, Ind. --- The Wayland Baptist men made it to the podium for the second straight year at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Pioneers scored 42 points to finish fourth in the 74 team field. The 60th Annual Men's and 31st Annual Women's Championship, which was hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University, wrapped up Saturday evening.

MARION, Ind. --- The Wayland Baptist men's 4x800-meter relay kept hopes alive for a second consecutive team national banner with a first place finish during day two of the 2011 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The foursome of Hildon Boen, Mario Scott, Victor Lemay and Jarrod Morris turned in a time of 7:33.37 to edge out McKendree University for the national title in the 3200-meter relay, the first in school history in that event.
